Another Parkrun PB

Another week yet another parkrun 5km PB.

This week I was back to a course where I had only set a new PB 2 weeks after nearly a year from the last one their. This week I beat it by over 70 seconds!!!

To celebrate they had cake, biscuits and wine at the finish area or maybe it was to celebrate their first anniversary at this event.

That is the 3rd parkrun PB on consecutive weeks all going as fast as I could. I will have to go for the 4th (all April) but I will have to go to a different course that I have already ran as the others are bit too hard to reach now.

1st in Age Category at Parkrun 5km

On Saturday I took part in a new (2nd event) parkrun 5km at Gorleston (Norfolk) sea front. It was a fairly tough course as it was two laps with some climbs up the cliff top and also strangely warm at that time of the morning.

Without knowing the exact route I went of the start fast and thought I would see how long I could hold the pace for. I kept the pace fast with slight recovery sections at the top of inclines.

I completed the run in 24:01 which is 9 seconds quicker than any other parkrun 5km I have done.

Later in the day I found out that I was 4th overall and 1st in my age category.
